I’ve been talking about doing some articles on the Koch Brothers. It’s very important to understand that these asshats are behind a lot of the very worst shit going on today in Washington. They’ve been massively funding libertarian and conservative schools, think tanks, and probably a lot more.

It’s a brilliant plan. And has been going on for decades. They created experts and lawyers that think like they do and can go on fox to provide expert commentary. And they create the papers and documents that people in government can use to justify weird shit.
Citizens United. This may be one of the worst supreme court decisions in history. It opened the floodgates for dark money.
(Many of Trump’s judicial nominees are members of the Federalist Society, including Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, whom Leo reportedly selected for the seat himself.) Leo is friends with David and Charles Koch, who have both donated generouslyto his organization.

It is wholly unsurprising that political donors would use their wealth to buy influence at GMU. It is ironic, though, that these particular donors happen to be some of the leading proponents of the legal theory that money in politics has no corrupting effect. This theory was most clearly enshrined into law by Chief Justice John Roberts—a Federalist Society alumnus recommended for his current post by Leo—in 2014’s McCutcheon v. FEC, as well as its predecessor, 2010’s Citizens United. In those cases, the court held that “most large donors do not seek improper influence over legislators’ actions” and that “ingratiation and access” between donors and donees “are not corruption.” McCutcheon scoffed at the notion that an individual could buy favor with politicians by handing them a huge sum of money, dismissing the claim that donations would directly result in “political favors.”

Trump isn’t an anomaly. He fits perfectly on the crazy chart of republiCons. They kept getting worse and now the crazy train is totally off the rails.
After President Bush tapped John G. Roberts Jr. for the Supreme Court, the nominee was widely reported to be a member of the Federalist Society — an assertion that White House officials vigorously disputed.

When it was later disclosed that Roberts was once listed as serving on the steering committee of the group’s Washington chapter, Bush aides continued to insist that Roberts has no recollection of ever being a full-fledged member of the conservative legal group.
There are clear links showing that the Koch Brothers are responsible for the Federalist Society, which recommended to Bush W. and Trump, Supreme Court Justices Roberts, Gorsuch, and Bart “I like beer” Kavanaugh. Those fuckers have bought at least 1/3 of the Supreme Court. Those are just the ones I know about.
Trump continues to wave his twitter thumbs and suck up all the oxygen, while the most important stuff is going on behind the scenes and missed.
